It is clear that something needs to change… From BOTH perspectives. Maybe collaboration is what is in order…… A few good ideas from you…. A few good ideas from others…. You both seem passionate about the topic so why argue when you can be doing something productive! Something has to crumble and I would rather it be our economic system than the world around us. It is never too late to try!

If one discusses the effect of carbon dioxide upon the climate of the earth’s surface based upon these results, one could conclude that the greater the amount of carbon dioxide, the colder would be the temperature of the earth’s surface.

seems to be a classic quote mining trick.

They don’t cite the paper (despite making a fuss about the date given by Miscount Monckton, but it comes from the M&W paper “Thermal Equilibrium of the Atmosphere With a Given Distribution of Relative Humidity” (see p104).

The argument is too long to quote here, but the cite in question explains (drawing upon Bolz & Falkenberg (1950)), by the end of the paragraph, why precisely the opposite conclusion should be drawn.
